Our work with Natural England has included the design of interpretation panels for wetland and village pond environments, helping to communicate the ecological value of these important habitats in a clear and engaging way.
Projects such as West Lees in Nidderdale focused on the creation of wildlife interpretation that explains the richness of wetland ecosystems and the species they support. The panels combine accessible text with illustration and imagery, helping visitors quickly understand the significance of the site and the role of ongoing conservation work.
At North Stainley Village Pond near Ripon, we developed a localised interpretation panel that highlights the importance of even small-scale habitats within the wider landscape. The design supports community engagement by encouraging awareness and appreciation of local biodiversity.
Across both sites, the interpretation is designed to sit sensitively within the natural environment, using durable materials and clear visual hierarchy to ensure information is easy to read and understand in situ.
The result is a straightforward, informative approach to wildlife interpretation that supports education, awareness and a stronger connection between people and place.
