Our work at Malham Tarn in the Yorkshire Dales for the National Trust included interpretation panels and supporting printed materials designed to help visitors understand this internationally significant upland landscape.
The interpretation focuses on the tarn’s unique ecology, wildlife and conservation management, presenting complex environmental information in a clear and accessible way. Carefully structured content, combined with photography, illustration and mapping, helps visitors quickly connect with the site and its wider context within the Dales.
We also developed wildlife-focused interpretation panels that highlight key species and habitats, supporting a deeper appreciation of the area’s biodiversity and ongoing conservation work.
Alongside the on-site panels, a supporting leaflet extends the interpretation experience, providing additional background information and helping visitors explore the landscape with greater understanding.
The result is a cohesive and sensitive interpretation system that enhances visitor engagement while respecting the character and importance of Malham Tarn.
